Helping to communicate with the Deaf is important for First Responder
Deafness is not “one size fits all”. And, not all Deaf people have the same approach to language and any kind of amplification , such as hearing aids. In fact, many Deaf people opt not to wear amplification and others may choose not to learn sign language. The American Speech and Hearing Association offers much information about diagnosis and assistance for those who may be suspected of having a hearing loss / deaf. (ASHA.org)
